Wow, it was certainly been a whirlwind these past 2 weeks.
I packed, moved, found an apartment, and got my wisdom teeth removed all in the same week. I was slightly terrified of being sedated for the surgery after watching this "informed consent" video about how you can die, but as you probably can deduct all went well. "Going under," or so to speak, was the strangest thing I have ever experienced. It was not like going to sleep or anything else people tried to describe it to me as. It literally felt like I had blinked, I was completely unaware that I had been out. One minute I was crying saying I don't know about this, the next the dentist was telling me it was over.
Corey graduated, yay! The ceremony was so long and boring, but that's how they all are. He came up here with me and has been here the first week - so that has been really nice. (I am staying with his aunt and uncle here in maryland.) We toured a little and took some great pictures. He is in Ireland now and will be going to Spain and Italy over the next 3 weeks.
My first day of my internship was not very fun. People were rude, it was rainy, and all I did was stand in lines, fill out forms, and process paperwork. Fortunely it had to go up from there, and it has been. Everyday I have been here has been a little better than the last. And I think that I am really going to enjoy this summer, and learn more than I ever thought.
I am working 2 days a week in the registrars office. One day filing and the other day helping in the packing room. And then working 2 days with a team of conservators to clean the sculptures, tomorrow is my first day with that, so I guess I will see how it goes.

...and we're back
After a year of sabbatical I decided that this blog needed to be reinstated.
Just to catch everyone up to speed:
*Spain was amazing, and I want to go back!
*I am graduating in Dec. due to one class :(
*I have been interning with the historical park in Farmer's Branch
*2 of my roommates got engaged this semester
*My little sister is graduating high school and going to Midwestern
*My bf is graduating as well and starts working in Houston in June
AND -- I got an internship at the Hirshhorn museum and sculpture garden this summer!!!
So, I will be living in Washington this summer interning at the Smithsonian. I am extremely excited and feeling a little overwhelmed. I fly out on the 25th and before that I have to: move out of my house, finish up at farmer's branch, get my wisdom teeth out, pack, and go to Corey's graduation in Austin. Hopefully I can also find a sweet person to sublease my room sometime in there. Luckily I am finished with finals though, this semester has been pretty easy.
Keep on keepin' on!
